With the worst of COVID behind us, the time for all those Zoom benefits is over and the time for friends and acquaintances to gather in person to support their favorite causes is here.
And that’s why Near West Theatre, the company committed to inclusive theater for all ages, races, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, gender identities & sexual orientations, and sill and experience levels, is calling their benefit “Here & Now.”
“Here & Now celebrates passion, heart, tenacity, and resilience,” they say. “Here & Now celebrates Near West Theatre’s commitment to community and to bringing our mission to life each and every day. Here & Now celebrates everything that has brought us to this moment following the last two years, navigating the pandemic. Join us to celebrate our resilient present and our vibrant future.”
The benefit takes place at Near West’s expansive, dedicated space in the Gordon Square district. It features performances by members of their community, food and drink from restaurateurs of color, and dancing to music by the funky K-Street.
You can grab tickets online through Friday May 20 @ 5pm, or get them at the door starting @ 6:30pm Saturday May 21.
