Learn About the History of Photography at the Lakewood Public Library

Wed 5/25 @ 6PM

The Lakewood Public Library has been marking National Photography Month with a series of educational programs about different aspects of photography.

The final one takes place this week when Lakewood-based photography professor David Thum will guide attendees through the history of photography, from 1839 through in “History of Photography: From Silver Through Sensors. He’ll talk about antique processes from the 19th century such as daguerreotypes, tintypes and stereoscopic images and share how to identifying the types of photos in your family photo collection, which are probably mostly snapshots from a Brownie or Instamatic. But you never know!

It takes place in the Main Library Auditorium. It’s free and it’s open to anyone 10 and older.
