While they aren’t as ubiquitous as summer markets, some farmers markets in the area continue through the winter, offering aficionados of eating local to enjoy long-storing crops, greenhouse-grown greens, diary products and meat, and processed, value-added foods such as salad dressings and salsas.
The Countryside Farmers Markets in Bath move indoors from Howe Meadow to the Old Trail School, where they take place every other week until the end of April. More than 30 growers, producers and artists sell at these markets, and many offer the option to pre-order and pick up.
And on the third Friday of each month, the market hosts a cookbook swap. Bring some of those cookbooks you haven’t opened in years and trade them for some with intriguing dishes or cuisines you’ve been meaning to try. This is that week.
Masks are required!
