Mentor Chill Out Is a Day of Outdoor Winter Fun

Sat 1/22 @ 11AM-6PM

Are you game for bundling up the family and spending a day having fun outdoors? The Mentor Chill Out, held at Mentor Civic Center Park, provide an opportunity to do so. The event features a flock of different cold-weather events including a snowman building contest, ice sculpting demonstrations throughout the day, ice skating on an outdoor rink, wagon rides, a Zamboni pull, and a popsicle eating contest (which sounds more summery to us).

But there’s more! Ten ice sculptures will be on display, with six more created during the day by professional ice sculptors. There’s a Chili Cook Off and local food trucks providing eats. For the adults, there’s a whiskey-tasting bar. And DJ Stray will liven things up spinning tunes.

A parade of lights at 4:45 precedes the concluding fireworks display at 5:45pm. How often do we get to see fireworks in winter? Get out there! Most activities are free and the event takes place “snow or shine.”
