Cello Society Scholarship Winners Play Virtual Concert from the BOP STOP

The Cleveland Cello Society has announced the winners of its 2021 scholarship competition, and now you can hear them play live from the comfort and safety of your home at the Cleveland Cello Society Winners Recital.

The BOP STOP is hosting the event, which will have no live audience. Instead, all are invited to tune in and listen for free on the BOP STOP’s Facebook page. (You can also make a donation to support the CCS’s work here.)

The collegiate division features gold prize co-winners Drew Dansby and Miles Reed, silver prize winner Sarah Dabin Baek, and Agnew Bach Prize co-winners Drew Dansby and Sammantha Powell. All are students at the Oberlin Conservatory except Powell who attends the Cleveland Institute of Music. The winner of the senior division is Daniel Dorsey of Cincinnati’s St. Xavier High Shool; junior division George Knobelock Edwards Prize winner is Elena Ziegler of Copley’s St. Hilary School. And the elementary division Mary Margaret Kramer Prize winner is Seraphina Huang, who attends Boulevard Elementary School in Shaker Heights.
