78th Street Studios Third Friday Offers Plenty to See

Fri 1/21 @ 5-9PM

Yes, there’s a pandemic surge going on right now. But Third Friday art walks at 78th Street Studios are starting to look like the before times again, with most businesses, galleries and studios open, and a plethora of pop-up vendors and artisans in the big event spaces. And once again, they are free, although they’re urging people to register in advance so they can maintain some crowd control. And while masks are recommended but not required to enter the building, they’re reminding visitors that some of the businesses may require one.

This month, look for a new show of digital weaving by interdisciplinary artist Meagan Smith at Kink Contemporary, entered from the outside parking lot. In addition, HEDGE Gallery on the second floor is opening its annual Printmaking Spotlight show, featuring the work of Phyllis Fannin and Lisa Schonberg.

Once again, you’ll find food available from Gordon Square sandwich shop Local West in the smART Space on the first floor and adult beverages at BARneo on the RAMP level, with proceeds benefiting nearby NEOhio art museum ARTneo, where you have one final chance to catch the closing-soon show, Drawn to Clay, featuring the work of ceramicists Andrea LeBlond, Beth Lindenberger, Donna Webb and Sandy Miller.
