Pretty soon, the holiday art/crafts sales will be happening hot and heavy, with holiday art fairs, various arts organizations opening their holidays shops, and galleries sponsoring holiday “off the wall” art events.
First out of the gate is Heights Arts in Cleveland Heights. The gallery space includes a shop year-round featuring work by area artists but during the holidays it greatly expands its selection. This year, it plans to fill the entire gallery with work by more than 100 local artists who work in a wide variety of mediums: jewelry, cards, photography, prints, drawings, ceramics, blown glass, oil paintings, even books and CDs by local authors and musicians. It’s like a summer art fair crammed into one storefront, with giftable items that a guaranteed to be unique.
The store opens on Friday November 5 and runs through December 31. Starting Wednesday December 1, it will be open seven days a week.
