Clevelanders associate reggae — and the area’s top reggae band, Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band — with summer. They’re a big draw at every summer festival and outdoor concert series, catching that sunny, laidback vibe and turning it into magical music that embodies the spirit of the season.

Although they’re only playing a handful of dates this winter, it’s nice to bask in some of that vibe when the weather is cold. It won’t be that chilly inside the Beachland Ballroom when the band plays a post-Thanksgiving show on Saturday November 27: the knot of dancing bodies will make sure of that. The band has a new album coming early next year, and you can hear a preview of some of that music, along with old fan favorites, and of course, some Bob Marley tunes and other covers the band has customized.

Opening is Outlaws I & I, another long-running local reggae band featuring members of First Light, who reigned as Cleveland’s most popular band of any genre in the 80s and 90s. (Jones was also one of its members).
