Bike Cleveland/Bike Lakewood Cranksgiving Gathers Food for Those in Need

Sat 11/20 @ 11AM-2PM

Cranksgiving is an annual tradition with Bike Cleveland, a holiday gift to those in need from the area’s cyclists. Each year they partner with a different Northeast Ohio community, and this year, it’s Bike Lakewood

Bike riders gather at a central location — this year the Lakewood Truck Park — to register and grab some donuts and coffee and get a shopping list and map before setting out to hit the various groceries to purchase the items, which must be carried in some sort of bike attachment. Return to Lakewood Truck Park by 1:45pm with your haul for the closing ceremony and the traditional group photo.

All ages and skill levels are welcome, and you can go to as many or as few groceries as you can handle in rides of up to 15 miles. Cyclists will generally spend about $15 but whatever you can afford is OK. You can also bring additional non-perishable items from your own pantry or organize a food drive among your friends. If you can’t make it, food and cash donations can be made at Lakewood’s Spin Bike Shop or Beat Cycles.
