Film Commission Hosts Costume Party

“Fun Size”

Thu 10/28 @ 6-9PM

Just in time for Halloween, the Greater Cleveland Film Commission is reminding us that in the summer of 2011, the Halloween-themed movie Fun Size was filmed in northeast Ohio. And while the movie, which starred Victoria Justice and Chelsea Handler in a film about a girl tasked with looking after her younger brother on Halloween who loses him among all the trick-or-treaters and embarks on a search to find him, wasn’t a hit, according to the GCFC it created 132 temporary jobs here and $14 million in economic benefits.

To draw attention to the work they do in attracting such movie activity, they’re hosting a Halloween costume party for film fans.  DJ Ricky Ruckkus will be playing dance music, as each guest gets a raffle ticket and is entered in the costume contest if they come dressed up. The contest will be judged by Q04’s Jeremiah Widmer, and Zachariah Durr and Laura Wimbels, hosts of The Big Bad B-Movie Show on the CW 43. Prizes will be awards in categories such as Best Cleveland Film or Movie-Themed Costume, Best Couple’s Costume, Scariest Costume and a Grand Prize for Best Costume of the Night.

There’ll be a cash bar, food and more raffle tickets available for purchase. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door, and proceeds will go to helping the GCFC expand the local TV and movie scene. Go here for info and tickets.
