Cleveland author Candice Zee has just released a brand-new book called The Munchkins, a fantasy book for middle school readers. It revolves around 13 children who have mysterious special powers. She says that the story was germinating for a long while, growing out of pretend play she and her brother engaged in when growing up, acting out Munchkins stories. Now young readers who enjoy fantasy stories such as Harry Potter can share Zee’s as well.
Kids (and their parents) who’d like to meet her and snag an autographed copy of the book can do so at The Bookshop in Lakewood, an intimate independent bookstore, which is hosting Zee’s first author event following the book’s publication. The event is free and open at all; masks are required.
