Arts in August Tremont Kicks Off a Month of Free Outdoor Performances

Fri 8/6 @ 7PM

Sun 8/8 @ 5PM

The long-running Tremont Arts in August series returns this weekend with its month-long series of free performances in Lincoln Park.

It kicks off on Friday August 6, with Cleveland Public Theatre’s STEP program, a summer theater workshop in which a team of teenagers conceives, creates, produces and performs a production that tours area parks, community centers and other public spaces. This year’s Song of Sankofa looks at the experience of a young girl trying to reconnect with the natural world of her childhood.

On Sunday August 8 @ 5PM, the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival will bring its 2021 show, Romeo and Juliet, to the park.

Upcoming performances include Verb Ballets (8/13), Inlet Dance Theatre (8/14), indie rock from the Village Bicycle, the Katy and Church of Starry Wisdom (8/21), the Erie Heights Brass Band Ensemble (8/27), Papo Ruiz Y La Dulzura De La Salsa (8/28) and Cavani String Quartet, presented by Arts Renaissance Tremont (8/29).
