Versatile Kent Musician David Mayfield Will Be “Alive & Alone” at Riverdog Retreat

Fri 7/30 @7:30 pm

David Mayfield comes from a musical family. As a child, he toured in a bluegrass band with his parents and younger sister Jessica Lea, who launched her own solo career in her late teens, aided by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys.

Mayfield is known as a versatile player who has put together different versions of his indie rock band the David Mayfield Parade and returned to his roots with the David Mayfield Bluegrass Parade. He’s also an in-demand sideman who spent almost a decade in Nashville.

But when he finally makes it back to Lorain County’s Riverdog Retreat (“David Mayfield was scheduled twice before this summer and both shows sold out…both were also cancelled due to the weather reports!” they tell us) he’ll be “Alive and Alone.”
The show will be in the meadows and the promise it will go on “unless it is clear the end times are rapidly approaching. If it rains…we have a plan.”

All tickets are $20; you must make a pre-paid reservation. (Go here). They’ll have tables and chairs; you are welcome to bring your picnic basket and cooler.
