Two Poets Do Open-Air Reading in Coventry Village

Thu 7/29 @ 7PM

Mac’s Backs on Coventry is hosting a poetry reading. But instead of the confined space of its little shop, it’ll be bringing it out to the open-air park in front of the Coventry branch of the Cleveland Heights University Heights Public Library, just a block-and-a-half from the store.

The guest readers are Conor Bracken and Laura Grace Weldon. Bracken recently published The Enemy of My Enemy Is Me, which won the 2020 Diode Editions Book Prize. He’s known for both his published poems and translation, which have earned him fellowships at multiple writers’ conferences. Weldon is an editor/educator who leads workshops on poetry, memoir-writing and creative thinking. She’s had four books published, including three poetry collections, the most recent being Portals this year, and a handbook of “natural education” called Free Range Learning. She was Ohio’s 2019 Poet of the Year and says she likes to write ‘sardonic greeting cards.”

This event is free and open to the public.
