Enjoy Free Live Motown and Other Hits at Lake View Cemetery

Sun 7/25 @ 4PM

One of the most unexpectedly pleasant settings for summer concerts in Northeast Ohio is Lake View Cemetery, the sprawling facility that sits on the intersection of Cleveland, Cleveland Heights and East Cleveland. Its most prominent feature is the Garfield Memorial where America’s 20th president (a Northeast Ohio native) and his wife are buried. And it’s on the sloping lawn of the memorial that this summer concert series takes place.

This summer it’s down to one concert a month, as the pandemic cut into planning time. But this weekend, you can bring a blanket or chairs and a picnic, and groove to beloved Motown tunes by artists such as the Temptations and Stevie Wonder, performed by Cleveland’s Etiquette, featuring Lenny and Tamar Gray. In addition to Motown, their repertoire includes music by Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, Alicia Keys the Rolling Stones and the Beatles.

The concert is free. Registration is encouraged but not required. Go to LakeViewCemetery.com/events. Rain date is August 1.
