Cleveland’s Anne E. DeChant Is Back in Town From Nashville to Play at Cain Park

Thu 7/29 @ 8PM

Clevelanders always look forward to the return of singer/songwriter/guitarist Anne E. DeChant to her native northeast Ohio.

The Avon Lake native  was part of the popular Cleveland folk-rock group Odd Girl Out in the early-mid ’90s, before leaving in 1997 to launch her solo career. In 2008, she moved to Nashville to take advantage of the resources for songwriters there. Sine going solo she’s released a series of pop-oriented albums of constantly higher quality including 2019’s Lost in Kentucky. She always comes back a couple of times a year for a month or more to play a series of gigs, at least in normal years.

Last year, she just hunkered down at her Nashville home (as many of us did), which included livestreaming a series on YouTube called “The 11:30 Bathroom Break, Live from my Bathroom,” a shot feature in which she chatted with fans and performed some acoustic tunes from her large repertoire. She released a “best of” record called Every Little Everything at the end of last year.

Now, finally, she’s back in town to play all those tunes her fans here have come to know and love. This week she’s at Cain Park’s Evans Amphitheatre; she’ll be back for more shows in September, but there’s hardly a better place to catch an act like hers than Cain Park.

Tickets are $15-$20. Get  them at cainpark.com/Anne-E-DeChant.
