Cleveland Shops Hosts Gathering for Independent Store Owners

Thu 7/29 @ 6:30-8PM

Register by Tuesday 7/20

If you are an independent brick-and-mortar business in Cleveland, you’ll want to know about an upcoming event hosted by Cleveland Shops.

The organization was formed in April 2002 by veteran local marketing/ communications expert Myra Orenstein who was looking for a way for independent businesses to keep themselves out there while the pandemic was cutting back on people’s in-person shopping trips. Cleveland Shops has hosted sales and gift card events, and specials for the holidays, with businesses joining together to get the word out.

Most everyone that’s going to reopen is back open but that doesn’t mean they don’t still need help. So Cleveland Shops is hosting “An Evening of Conversation, Camaraderie and Community,” taking place at Marshall Carpet One at 1451 SOM Center Road in Mayfield Heights.

There, over wine and “delectable tidbits” (undoubtedly provided by a local small business), local retailers can learn how to increase visibility and traffic and grow their businesses by banding together to do community marketing. Find a list of their founding members at www.clevelandshops.org. Their products and services range from clothing, shoes and jewelry to floor treatments, lighting and home staging. If you’re shopper you might want to bookmark that site and get on their mailing list!

Learn more about Cleveland Shops and register for the event here. The event takes place on Thu 7/29 but you must RSVP by Tuesday July 20.
