Author Talks With CMNH Ecologist about Rescuing the Planet

Thu 5/13 @ 7PM

Many cheered the recent announcement the recent executive order by President Biden, setting the 30×30 goal to protect 30% of U.S. lands and water by 2030. Currently only half that amount is permanently protected, and more and more people are becoming aware of the importance to the environment of halting our exploitation of natural resources.

Author Tony Hiss, a former New Yorker staff writer and author of 15 books, has just published a new book called Rescuing the Planet: Protecting Half the Land to Heal the Earth, which proposes a 50×50 goal: protecting 50% of our land and water by 2050. Hiss will hold a conversation with the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s restoration ecologist Dr. David Kriska who oversees its Natural Areas division.
