“Women Who Roar” Looks at Three Women Who Influenced Popular Music

Sister Rosetta Tharpe

Wed 4/14 @ 4PM

Join the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s education director Mandy Smith to celebrate some of the contributions women have made to popular music.

The program, called “Women Who Roar,” is being hosted by the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, although only one of the musicians being featured is Jewish (Carole King). Smith will look at how three very different Rock Hall inductees — King, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Janet Jackson — addressed their challenges, heartbreaks and triumphs in their music, and the influence they had on other artists.

The program is free for Rock Hall and Maltz Museum members; $10 for others. Register here.
