Artists Archives Hosts 7th Annual Members Show

Work by Kelly Pontoni

Thu 4/8-Sat 5/29

Thu 4/8 @ 7PM

The Artists Archives of the Western Reserve is a repository for the work of 89 of northeast Ohio’s professional artists, making sure their work is preserved and available for study and exhibition. Members of AAWR help to fund its ongoing expenses. Many of those members are other area artists who recognize the importance of this work.

Each year for the past seven, the organization has sponsored its Members Exhibition, to which anyone who is an active member can submit one piece. They’re displayed salon-style, the walls (and display platforms) packed with diverse works: painting, prints, photographer, collages, ceramics and more. People checking out the show may vote for their favorite pieces and the four artists with the most votes with awards and cash prizes.

This year’s show opens, again, with a virtual reception on Zoom on Thursday April 8, described as “a joyous gathering of AAWR staff, Board and member artists, as well as a preview of the show.” Register to attend here. AAWR is open so you can stop in and see the how during its regular Wednesday-Saturday hours.
