Folknet Kicks Off Its Virtual Spring Concert Series

Sat 3/13 @ 7:15PM

Local acoustic music nonprofit Folknet wasn’t able to present its traditional spring and fall concert series, its Spring Sing or Music in the Valley last year. But now it’s making a comeback, not with live events quite yet, but with a streaming concert series, with both local and national acts.

It kicks off this week with someone who is extremely well known in the local music community. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Brent Kirby has not only performed as a solo act, a band leader, part of Gram Parsons tribute The New Soft Shoe, drummer for holiday act the Ohio City Singers and frontman of rockers the Jack Fords, he’s also host of the long-running 10 x 3 singer-songwriter nights and books acts for a variety of events and music series. He’s been tireless in promoting the whole music scene.

He’ll be joined by up-and-comer and certified music therapist at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Rehabilitation Center Liz Bullock, who’ll do an opening set.
