Zoom Program Shares How to Cut Down Food Waste

Tue 2/23 @ 6-7PM

Sometimes the environmental issues facing the planet appear so vast that doing anything seems futile. Yes, we need to be doing a LOT more, but even small steps contribute. One of those is helping to food waste out of landfills where they produce methane gas and where the resources that produced that food have been effectively squandered.

Given that the average America throws away about a pound of food per day, there’s a lot of room for individual improvement. Learn more about what you can do at a Zoom presentation hosted by the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes. Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District education specialist Carin Miller will share better ways to shop and prepare meals and some creative ways to use food scraps instead of tossing them to squeeze every last bit of benefit from your food purchases.

It’s $5 for members, $7.50 for non-members. Go here to register.
