Riverdog Retreat Already Planning 2021 Concert Season in the Meadow

One of the few venues to book concerts last summer was Riverdog Retreat in Lorain County.

Generally, they have a packed summer schedule of touring bands, mostly in the folk/Americana/roots rock genres, playing their indoor/outdoor barn area. Last summer, they moved concerts to their meadow, with a roster of mostly local acts because, as they point out, while the meadow is an outdoor venue they’ve set up for social distancing, “in order for an artist to have a financially successful tour, they have to have a lineup of functioning venues.”

Now they’re busy booking shows for their 2021 season — still in the Meadow — and have released a list of some of the artists they expect to host. They include Nora Jane Struthers & Joe Overton, The Accidentals, April Verch, The Rough and Tumble, The Howlin’ Brothers, Barbaroo, The Way Down Wanderers, Jill Andrews, The Honey Dewdrops, The Onlies,  Annie & Rod Capps Band, Vivian Leva & Riley Calcagno and The Arcadian Wild. They’re also planning a 15thanniversary concert for local band The Soul Proprioters, who perform a popular annual concert at Riverdog.

With so little live music going on, all their shows last summer sold out. Now they tell us, “We are expecting even greater demand this coming season because folks who didn’t want to risk a trip last year are planning to come this year after receiving their vaccinations. When we finally announce the shows, we suggest you book as soon as you can.”

They’re asking that no one contact them about tickets until dates are officially announced. Keep up with announcements by subscribing to their eNewsletter. Go here to subscribe.
