Experimental Harp Player Live Streams from the BOP STOP

Thu 1/28 @ 7PM

Stephan Haluska is active in Cleveland’s experimental/improvisational music scene. But he stands out for the unique instrument he brings to the mix: harp — the large, stringed kind. In doing so he blows up the conventional ideas of how the instrument should sound and the contexts in which it’s used, usually to suggest an “angelic” sound. He discovers a vast variety of other uses for the harp, exploring its harmonic, percussive and textural potential, through both traditional and extended techniques as well as special preparations, electronics processing and tools.

Haluska will be live streaming a concert from the BOP STOP, which has created a state-of-the-art studio to stream shows not only during the pandemic but long after it ends. The concert is free but of course donations for the artist are gratefully accepted here. Go here to stream the concert.
