Cleveland Play House Program Aims to Inspire Sticking to Your Resolutions

Thu 1/21 @ 7PM

Cleveland Play House is working to keep theater alive during these virtual times with its Theatre Thursday programs, such as the upcoming one, titled “Inspiring Resolutions.”

The live, interactive program centers on Cleveland Play House’s “core values of Artistry, Community and Life-Long Learning.” In it, four performers will present monologues and songs that speak to moments of transformation. All have performed at Cleveland Play House: Peter Hargrave (Tiny Houses, Shakespeare in Love), Eric Lockley (How We Got On), Laura Perrotta (A Christmas Story, The Diary of Anne Frank), and Mariama Whyte (The Amen Corner, The Nolan Williams Project). Perrotta and Whyte are both based in northeast Ohio and have performed on many stages in the area.

The quartet of actors will be performing selections from The Belle of Amherst by William Luce, The Amen Corner by James Baldwin and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf by Ntozake Shange; poems by Maya Angelou and Emily Dickinson; covers of songs by Tom Paxton and Nina Simone; and original writing and songs. CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley and CPH Staff members Colleen Jackson and Rachel Lerner-Ley will offer intros and discussions between performances.

In addition, actor/life coach Bjorn DuPaty, who appeared in CPH’s productions of Pipeline and Fairfield) will offer hints for keeping your resolutions as well as other fitness ideas.

Registration is required. The program is $5 per household and will be available for on-demand viewing until January 24 @ 8:30pm. Go here to register.
