moCa Launches Artist in Residence Program

The Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (moCa) has announced a new artist-in-residence program focused on helping emerging and early-career artists take their careers to the next level.

“As a non-collecting art institution, moCa is a laboratory for artistic experimentation,” they say. “For over 50 years, we have been working directly with artists to advance new work and visions. The AIR program is a new approach to working with artists, built through long-form engagement and extended time together in the same environment.”

In keeping with its commitment to include artists who have historically been underrepresented or excluded from arts institutions, AIR will prioritize types of artists whose work had been ignored by museums and other cultural institutions. The program, launching in July 2021, will comprise two five-month, in-building residencies open to artists who live in Cuyahoga County. It includes residence will an honorarium, program support and a private, semi-visible studio space on moCa’s third floor.

Deadline to apply is January 31, 2021. More information about requirements and application procedures are here.
