Apollo’s Fire Program Explores Resilience in the Face of Previous Pandemics

Apollo’s Fire, Cleveland’s Baroque Orchestra is offering a full concert video that couldn’t be more appropriate for these times.

It’s called “Resilience: Music for Troubled Times.” In it, Apollo’s Fire’s director Jeannette Sorrell and 10 musicians, including sopranos Amanda Powell and Ashlee Foreman and lutenist/vocalist Brian Kay, recall two previous pandemics: the London plague of 1665 and the outbreaks of dysentery and cholera in the wake of the U.S. Civil War. Through music, poems and diaries, they tell the stories of these previous “”troubled times” and “celebrate the resilience of the human spirit.”

Each ticket lets you watch the concert and pre-concert talk anytime for 30 days. Tickets are now $10 for new watch-at-home patrons.
