On The Edge

10.28 -11.04.20

Your vote matters.

Endorsements matter. That’s why CoolCleveland has endorsed the big races and issues since our inception. For the past couple of months, you’ve read our endorsements, so if you haven’t voted yet, you can find them right here. Joe Biden for President. YES on Issue 68 for the Cleveland school levy. Hillary O’Connor Mueri for Congressional District 14. Joan Sweeny & Monique Smith for Ohio House of Representatives. Emanuella Groves for 8th District Court of Appeals. William Vodrey for Cuyahoga Court of Common Pleas. Jennifer Brunner and John P. O’Donnell for State Supreme Court. If you’re wondering why those last two are so important, it could tip the Ohio Supreme Court back from the lopsided gerrymandering that’s been going on. Please don’t forget to vote.

Once that’s out of the way, let’s start enjoying the upcoming holiday season. Lakewood’s new Home for the Holidays shop brings together locally themed local businesses under one roof. Cleveland Shops for retail, modeled after Cleveland Independents for restaurants, is launching their first gift certificate sale, with a gift card to follow.

Artists Archives hosts an online Halloween party, Wizbang! mounts a spooky tale circus-style, and Heights Arts’ 19th annual holiday store is open. Tue 11/3 is election day. Vote before then. Maybe you can help us move towards a better tomorrow.

 ELECTION
Why The State Supreme Court Matters

Many voters only look at the high-profile races on the ballot, but that’s a mistake. Two races could have a far-reaching impact on Ohioans: Jennifer Brunner and John O’Donnell for Ohio Supreme Court. They would give Democrats a slight majority on the court, which will hear any challenges to potential GOP-drawn district maps that could lock in lopsided Republican majorities for a decade. Read More
