While most of the glut of foot races we normally see each year have been cancelled or turned into “run on your own” events, the Towpath Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K will take place on Sunday October 11, although you can run virtually if you prefer.
Runners will be staged in heats with timed starts and there is a cap on the number of runners. And when you register, you’ll be asked to submit an estimated running pace time. While you won’t have to wear a mask while running, you’ll be required to wear one and socially distance before and after the race. To limit contact, there’ll be no same-day registration or packet pick-up.
The Towpath races support the development of the Towpath Trail and Canal Basin Park, the annual RiverSweep event and other projects in the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area.
