Roots of American Music Hosts Virtual Benefit Live from the BOP STOP

Sat 10/24 @ 8PM

Roots of American Music’s annual benefit is usually a fun social event where the area’s veteran musicians can hang out and schmooze while helping out a nonprofit that utilizes local professional musicians to present programs that teach underserved groups about history, civics, science and other subjects through music.

Yeah, well, not this year. ROAM’s benefit takes place online this year, with a concert Cleveland ensemble Mourning [A] BLKstar, whose performances blend jazz, blues, R&B, electronics and spoken word to make powerful statements. The concert will be broadcast live from the BOP STOP on Facebook. It’s free to the general public, with VIP and sponsorship packages providing the income — and any donations you feel moved to give, of course. Proceeds go to furthering ROAM’s education and outreach programs.
