Time flies! It’s hard to believe it was 15 years ago that Bonnie Flinner took over the historic Tremont bar known as Dempsey’s Oasis and turned it into the neighborhood hot spot now called Prosperity Social Club. But yes, Prosperity turns 15 on October 21

“I joke that 15 bar/restaurant years is like 75 years in real life, and recent events have only made that feel more true,” says Flinner. “I’m honored to be the caretaker of a destination with a long history as a neighborhood gathering place, and I’m incredibly humbled that so many Clevelanders have loved and supported Prosperity over the last decade and a half.”

In honor of the anniversary and a nod to Cleveland culinary traditions, Prosperity will be serving the $15 Ethnic Platter on Wednesday October 21 and Saturday October 24. It couldn’t be more Cleveland: it features a pair of potato pierogi, cabbage and noodles with kielbaski, a Hungarian stuffed cabbage roll and a potato pancake served with apple-cranberry chutney and/or sour cream.

“The delicious sampling is a little nod to my heritage and to that of the bar’s longtime previous owners, the Dembowski family,” says Flinner. She also promises that the menu will include more such comfort foods as the weather gets cooler. Food is available for pick up or delivery.
