Near West Theatre Extends Run of Streaming Show

Through Sun 11/1

Like all small live theaters, Near West Theatre has had to make major changes to its 2020-21 season. It opened its season on October 10 with Rise: The Isolation Project, a totally streaming show. And it got such a good response that its extended the “run” through Sunday November 1.

Rise arose from NWT’s summer youth program, an original writing and performance project exploring the impact of this tumultuous year, including the pandemic and the reckoned with racial injustice. It brought together young people ages 9-18 from past shows to share their personal stories and create this performance piece.  NWT’s artistic director Trinidad Snider guided the production, with helps from Scott Ackerman, Mariah Burks, Jodi Kirk, Darius Stubbs, and Olivia Zink as reaching artists.

It’s pay what you can with a suggested donation of $15. Go here to learn how you can stream the show.
