The Screw Factory in Lakewood — an industrial building whose upper floors are occupied by artist studios — was planning its usual two-day fall open house back in the spring. And while they’ve scaled it down to one day, and there won’t be event rooms brimming with dozens of visiting artists, many of the resident artists will be opening their doors to celebrate autumn and give visitors a chance to get a jump on holiday shopping by patronizing an actual local artist face-to-face.
There will be some changes: masks are required, and hallways will be marked with arrows to control the traffic flow and prevent crowding. And while it will be smaller than usual, at least 15 artists will have open doors, offering everything from paintings to ceramics to perfumes to jewelry to vintage items to coffee.
As usual, both admission and parking are free.
