Cleveland Ballet Does Two Outdoor Performances at Stan Hywet Hall

Fri 10/16 @ 7PM

Sat 10/17 @ 7PM

Though live performances of any kind are few and far between, the Cleveland Ballet has been on the road throughout northeast Ohio, performing at outdoor venues for limited-size audiences. They recently performed a series of sold-out shows at Thorncreek winery and Gardens in Aurora and Gervasi Vineyard in Canton.

This weekend, they’re moving to the Great Meadows of Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron where they have two evenings with different programs.

Friday evening’s program is called Classic Fall Collection, with three short pieces. Schubert, choreographed by Cleveland Ballet’s artistic director Gladisa Guadalupe, features five women dancers performing to the music of Franz Schubert. It will also perform a Pas de Trois from Marcus Pepita’s Le Corsaire, with music byFrench Adolphe Adam. Closing the evening is Momentum, a neoclassical ballet also choreographed by Guadalupe to the music of Felix Mendelssohn.

On Saturday evening, they’ll premiere their original version of The Magic Flute, based on the Mozart opera. Tickets are $50 for preferred seating, $25 for lawn seating, and if the previous sell-outs are any indication, you’d better snatch them up quickly. Go here.
