The Aaron Posner play Stupid F##king Bird, which premiered in 2013, is a takeoff on Anton Chekhov’s 1896 classic and theater staple, The Seagull. As you might guess from the title, it’s less than worshipfully reverent, putting a modern (and satirical) spin on the tangled and ill-fated original tale of thwarted romance and thwarted creativity.
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Baldwin Wallace University is presenting its version of the play, directed by new directing faculty member René Copeland. The performance is virtual and tickers are free, but reservations are required. It’s limited to 50 “seats” per show.
