Pride in the CLE Goes Virtual

Fri 9/25 @ 7PM

Back in April, things looked optimistic enough that the annual Pride in the CLE celebration, scheduled for June, was pushed back to September. Alas, poor federal leadership and too many people’s disregard for health and safety once initial restrictions were lifted meant that all fall events were cancelled as well.

So the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland, which organizes Pride in the CLE, is planning a virtual event for Friday September 25. Yeah, I know. Bummer, since the event is all about hanging out with old friends, making new ones and letting people know by our presence that we oppose discrimination and inequality in all forms.

The Pride Ride on September 12 filled the last role. And if nothing else, you can gather with your closest family and maybe some friends if the weather is nice and you can socially distance outdoors, on September 25, for an evening of entertainment presented by KeyBank, Wonderhouse Films, and Near West Theatre. Drag star Veranda L’Ni, “Cleveland’s tallest drag queen,” hosts the event while will be headlined by the bands Apostle Jones and Kyle Kidd & Co. There’ll be many more local musician, artists and community leaders as well.

Keep up with updates and join the event here.
