Pick Up Food at Drive-Through Armenian Church Festival

Fri 9/18 @ 4-8PM

Sat 9/19 @ 11AM-3PM & 4-8PM

Sun 9/20 @ noon-4PM

One of the things we’re really missing this pandemic year is all those colorful church festivals, which tend to be scheduled from August through October. They give us a chance to explore the multitude of culture that have contribute to the vibrancy of the region.

Some of the festivals were cancelled. Many of the others, which foregoing the dancing, music and church tours, are still providing the distinctive ethnic foods usually prepared in the church basement by parishioners. That includes the 19th annual Armenian Festival held by St. Gregory of Narek Armenian Church.

The festival is drive-through only, where you can pick up the food you order online. Their new festival website lays out the whole menu which you can order a la carte or family-style. The menu features such favorites as lamb or chicken shish kabob, Armentian rice pilaf, roasted veggies, and cheese boreg (filled dough pastries, pictured above), along with desserts such as simit, nazook, khadayif, gatah and pakhlava. Go to their website to find out what these are!

They’re hoping you order by September 15, but won’t turn down later order unless something is sold out — and a few things already are! Order here.
