The entire span of Lakewood’s Madison Avenue will take on a festive seasonal look when the Lakewood Kiwanis Foundation hosts its 8thannual Lakewood Kiwanis Scarecrow Festival. For two weeks, from October 11-25, these handmade works of art will adorn storefronts and other locations from West 117thall the way to Riverside Drive.
The scarecrows are created by a variety of groups, including businesses, clubs, community organizations, families and neighbors, as well as by creative individuals. Scarecrows may be traditional or as unusual as you choose; some promote businesses, groups or initiatives within the community. So if you have a great idea for a scarecrow, bring it on!
Entry fee is $25, which goes to fund Kiwanis projects such as college scholarships for graduating Lakewood High School students. Learn more and apply to contribute a scarecrow at kiwanisfoundation.com.
