Drink Local Drink Tap Hosts Splash Benefit to Advance Its Clean Water Agenda

Thu 9/10 @ 7PM

For ten years, the Cleveland-based nonprofit Drink Local, Drink Tap has been dedicated to the idea that everyone should have access to clean drinking water: that that is a basic human right. They’re cleaned trash from beaches, created sanitary, sustainable drinking sources for thousands, and created education programs for kids so the next generation will be psyched to carry on the work including its WaveMaker program, a curriculum available to students around the world.

Now they’re hosting their annual giving Splash Party virtually in order to fund more of this good work going forward. It’s all about HOPE says DLDT founder Erin Huber

“HOPE may not be a strategy, but it certainly is our motivation,” she says. “Over the past 10 years, we’ve built 89 sustainable water projects for 30,000 people. We’ve brought safe, equitable sanitation to more than 10,000 people, released three documentaries, cleaned up over 10,000 pounds of trash from Edgewater Beach and engaged 15,000 students domestically in water education. And that’s just the beginning. At DLDT, we have proven that working together, we can move mountains and make progress towards a more water equitable world — and it is our HOPE to do more. It is our HOPE to one day celebrate a world where everyone has access to safe water.”

The benefit will feature local entertainment, announcements of from Huber and her team, stories about the work they’re doing and what they bill as a “very special interview.”

Suggested donation is $100, although there’s no set ticket price, and you only need to give a minimum donation of $1 to use the registration site. Donations are 100% tax deductible.
