Akron Symphony Interlude Series Brings Music to Stan Hywet Hall

Sat 9/19 @ 1-3PM

With normal life on hold for who knows how long and area organizations, businesses, and arts and culture groups beating the bushes to survive, we’re seeing a lot of new models and partnerships.

One of those is Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens’ collaboration with the Akron Symphony Orchestra’s Interlude Season series. Instead of presenting its usual full orchestra concerts at E.J. Thomas Hall, ASOs 2020-21 season will feature small ensembles performing at various places in the community. For this event, husband-and-wife violinist Cory and violist Ann Smith will be playing background music for visitors taking the self-guided tour of Stan Hywet’s Manor House.

The Interlude program is also collaborating with such groups as the Akron Art Museum, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Akron Public Schools, Akron-Summit County Public Library, the Akron Zoo, International Institute of Akron, Jilly’s Music Room, Love Akron, Mustard Seed Market & Café, Summa Health, Summit County Historical Society and Tuesday Musical Association.  And it’s taking suggestions for places to perform here.

Stan Hywet requires masks and social distancing in all indoor spaces.
