PHOTOSTREAM: Sunset at the Lakefront Nature Preserve by Anastasia Pantsios

08.15.2020 Lakefront Nature Preserve

The Lakefront Nature Preserve, just off MLK Drive, is a beautiful place to go for a contemplative walk (or a vigorous hike) any time of day or year, to watch the seasons change, and plants go through their various stages of growth, death and rebirth. It’s also got spectacular lake views, and the change to possibly happen upon a deer, peacefully chowing down at the side of the trail. Although it’s never very crowded, you’ll often find a cluster of people near the overlook pavilion at the west end of the perimeter trail near sunset, watching the twilight sparkling on the water, as boaters on the lake catch the last rays of sun.
