Get the Facts About Voting by Mail

Wed 8/5 @ 7PM

A lot of what you’ve hear about voting by mail is, frankly, hooey. We’ve had “no-fault absentee” — meaning, anyone can request an absentee ballot without needing to give a reason — for a decade in Ohio, and it’s worked just fine, no matter what Trump says. (His insistence that voting by mail is “rigged” while absentee voting is OK, is ludicrously ignorant — they are the same thing).

But we’re also hearing people on the left sounding alarms — they won’t be counted, or they won’t get delivered because of a post office slowdown. DON’T VOTE BY MAIL — go in person, some are telling us.

Please get some facts because your hearts and safety may depend on it, and voting early, by mail, is a way to assure that you can vote with peace of mind. The Cuyahoga Democratic Women’s Caucus is sponsoring a Zoom forum called “Everything you need to know about Voting By Mail.” It’s hosted CDWC steering committee member Meredith Turner who is a supervisor at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. She’ll explain exactly how the process works and put your mind at ease about your ability to vote in the November 3 election and have it count.

Register for the meeting here. An email will be send to you with information about joining the meeting.
