Cleveland Public Library Offers Gardening Tips for Kids

Thu 8/20, Thu 8/27 & Thu 9/3 @ 2PM

Getting children excited about gardening at a young age can set them on a path to good health for life. Being outside in the fresh air beats sitting in front of a screen; working in the dirt connects them to the Earth and the health of our environment and climate; and growing their own vegetables makes healthy eating more fun and tempting.

So the Lorain Avenue branch of the Cleveland Public Library is offering a virtual program on gardening just for kids, via Zoom and Facebook, every Thursday through September 3. They’ve joined with the staff of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History to demonstrate how plants, flower and vegetables can be grown in anyone’s backyard. Sure, it’s late in the season, but there are still things you can plant!
