Join an Adopt-a-Beach Effort to Clean Up Lake Erie Shores

Those who have participated in Adopt-a-Beach cleanups, which normally take place weekly on Saturday mornings along various northeast Ohio Lake Erie beaches, may have noticed they’re not hearing from their usual groups.

But beach cleanups are going on, organized by private groups. You can host your own or hook up with other small groups planning local clean-ups Edgewater Park and Euclid Beach Reservation. If an event is marked private, you can contact the team leader, or you can sign up to be a team leader yourself. It doesn’t take a large team to make a difference and clear a humungous amount of trash off one of our local sandy strands. And it’s a fun, healthy and environmentally positive way to get out of the house and get moving — fun for kids too.

Go here for more information about how to get involved.
