CVNP Invites Public to Meeting on River Restoration

Thu 6/25 @ 3PM & 7PM

If protecting our watershed and restoring the vibrancy of the Cuyahoga River and its ecosystem is a passion of yours, you’re invited to join a webinar/virtual public meeting to learn more about one restoration project, involving the river’s floodplain between the Boston Mill Visitor Center and Vaughn Road with the two-year project scheduled to start in the summer of 2021. The project is intended to improve water quality by restoring and expanding the surrounding wetlands, lengthening the river and reforesting it riverbanks.

“This restoration project is part of a multi-year plan to improve the condition of the Cuyahoga River,” says Cuyahoga Valley National Park superintendent Craig Kenkel. “Restoring the river to a more natural state will increase public recreation opportunities and greatly improve habitat.”

Two identical presentations will be held at 3pm and 7pm with the opportunity to ask questions. If you’d like to get up to speed in advance, go here.
