The Musical Theatre Project’s Bill Rudman Leads Zoom Discussion of 50s Film “Guys and Dolls”

Fri 5/29 @ 7PM

The 1955 movie Guys and Dolls, based on a 1950 Broadway musical, is a real period piece, with its ale of New York gamblers, a nightclub singer who wants to “go straight,” and a missionary who wants them all to go straight. It even involves a trip to pre-Castro Cuba when the island was a mecca for high-rolling tourists. The movie cast featured Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine as the romantic couples. (Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe were among the actresses considered for the female leads and passed over).
