The Spirits of the Civic — the Akron Civic Theatre — are quarantining right now, so there’ll be no big party/live auction event this year.
But the annual Spirits of the Civic benefit goes on — entirely online. There’ll be some 80 items to bid on, including one we’ve never seen before: the chance to smash a couple of guitars on the Civic’s stage. (Why hasn’t the Rock Hall thought of this?)
Other more typical items feature artwork, wines, restaurant gift certificates, beauty items, guitars and posters signed by artists who’ve played the Civic in the last year, and various “experiences,” including a Goodyear Blimp ride for two, a trip to the Grand Canyon, a Summit Metro Parks kayaking tour, and a movie night at the Civic for 50 — you choose the movie.
Bidding opens Sunday May 17 @ 8am and continues through Saturday May 23 @ 9pm. Make your bids here.
