PHOTOSTREAM: Planting Underway at Urban Farm by Anastasia Pantsios

04.11-18.2020 Trinity Farm

It’s been a more than a month since the volunteer team has returned to Trinity Cathedral Urban Farm at East 35th and Cedar in the Central neighborhood to start cleaning up, turning over compost, preparing beds and planting early crops such as radishes, greens, carrots and beets. There’s even been an impromptu tai chi session! And yes, people are practicing social distancing.

The farm is now in its 15th year. Each year it raises more than 3,000 pounds of organically grown produce to feed hungry people in the city, with volunteers from the church, other organizations and the community, donating most of its harvest to the Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry’s Central Kitchen to prepare meals for homeless people in Cleveland.
