Learn to Grow Native Plants in Your Yard

Sat 2/29 @ 1-2:30PM

Doan Brook Watershed Partnership and Friends of Lower Lake are two organizations dedicated to restoring and conserving the environment around the east side watershed.

As spring starts to peek on the horizon, they’re hosting a series of talks about how people can help with this work through sustainable gardening and native plantings, talking place throughout March and into April, which has been named Ohio’s first-ever Native Plant Month.

The series will cover topics such as restoring the tree canopy to planting a garden attractive to birds. The first of the series, taking place at the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library main branch on Lee Road, will address how to design a native garden. Landscape architect Wendy Meyer from Working Nature LLC will talk about how to plan such a garden for your own yard.

All the talks are free and open to all. Register here.
