A few years ago, the former Coventry School in Cleveland Heights seemed destined to be demolished to build townhomes, evicting the various arts and education organizations that had taken root there. But those groups mounted a campaign to keep their home and turn the building into a permanent arts center, and with he help of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library, they did so. It’s now the Coventry PE.A.C.E. campus.

The Coventry PEACE Campus is now hosting its second annual Chili Cook Off fundraiser to help fund some of the facility’s costs.

Area residents have entered their chili in three categories: Best Meat, Best Vegetarian and Most Creative. (Deadline was February 15). Now the judging is up to you! The $5-per-person tickets ($20 per family) Tickets are $5 per person include all the chili you can eat, side dishes, desserts and beverages, plus one vote apiece for favorite chili (families get three votes). Extra votes can be purchased for $5 each or six for $20 if you really want to stuff the ballot box for your favorite!
